By Dennis Quick , Senior Staff Writer

Daniel Island-based James Doran Co. has acquired a combined total of 63 acres of undeveloped land in Florida and Tennessee for mixed-use development, company officials announced Tuesday.

The company acquired 48 Florida acres adjacent to its upscale mixed-use development Winter Springs Town Center northeast of Orlando. The acquired land will be that development's second phase and will include 295 residential condominiums and 34,000 square feet of retail space. When completed, Winter Springs Town Center will offer 700 residential units, 500,000 square feet of retail space and 300,000 square feet of office space.

In Tennessee, the company acquired 15 acres next to its Northshore Town Center, a 155-acre mixed-use development in Knoxville.

The Florida and Tennessee properties represent the "new urban village" developments the company is known for, said Shane Doran, James Doran Co.'s President.
