LifeStyle Builders for First Release of Single Family Homesites at Midlothian Town Center
CHARLESTON, S.C. – Developer James Doran Company has entered into a contract with LifeStyle Builders and Developers, Inc. for the sale of 25 single-family homesites for new home construction at Midlothian Town Center, a 60-acre mixed-use community located in Midlothian, Va., an area of high growth and affluence near Richmond.
The single-family lots are located in a 25-acre section to be known as The Village at Midlothian Town Center, which also consists of 122 townhouse lots. This section of the development is a traditional neighborhood of cottage homes and townhouses creating a transition from the “new urban” setting of Midlothian Town Center to the suburban setting of the adjacent Salisbury community. The company has entered into this first building phase with LifeStyle Builders to design and construct 25 upscale residences within this neo-traditional neighborhood. The homes are configured to maximize interaction with neighbors on front porches, around parks and on nearby trails.
“To see this start to take shape as a signature James Doran Company ‘new urban village’ community is exciting for us. We are proud to partner with LifeStyle Builders as a premier builder to initiate the residential component that will help us recreate the downtown of yesteryear in this beautiful location,” said Shane Doran, President and great-grandson of company founder James Doran.
Midlothian Town Center combines retail, office, residential and leisure into a compact setting to create a “new urban village” lifestyle and destination center that reflects the style of James Doran Company developments throughout the Southeast.
The design of the town center and the residential village encourages interaction and helps to create a more dynamic sense of community. Amenities such as a three-acre natural lake, tree-lined streets, colorful and lush landscaping, outdoor plazas, a waterfront promenade, courtyards and a park-like town square serve as an appealing backdrop that draws residents and visitors out of doors to take in the natural surroundings and ample amenities.
“This approach is a great way to bring it all together in one place, which today’s active lifestyle demands more and more. Recreating downtown and offering an array of options for living, working and playing in one convenient and appealing spot is what this is all about,” said John Henry, vice president of development and legal affairs, who has led the development on behalf of James Doran Company.
Midlothian Town Center is located at Winterfield Road and Midlothian Turnpike near the interchange of Route 288. Opened in spring 2005, Route 288 completed the western beltway for the metro Richmond area and is rapidly bringing thousands of new residents and an assortment of new development to the area.
With attractive classical architecture, appealing outdoor spaces and a lively marketplace, Midlothian Town Center and The Village at Midlothian Town Center invoke a sense of history, tradition and the community spirit of the small towns of yesteryear.
Tenants will include lifestyle retail anchor, restaurant, specialty, entertainment and service companies. For leasing and sales information at Midlothian Town Center, contact
