James Doran Company Increases Real Estate Holdings In Florida and Tennessee
Developer to Expand Signature Mixed-Use Developments

CHARLESTON, SC –Continuing to grow its portfolio of major mixed-use real estate developments in the Southeast, James Doran company today announced the acquisition of a combined total of 63 acres of undeveloped land in Florida and Tennessee.

According to Shane Doran, President, the acquisitions are central to the company’s five-year strategic plan to increase real estate holdings by creating vibrant communities in targeted growth markets in the Southeast.

In the first of two separate transactions, the Company acquired 48 acres of undeveloped land adjacent to the Company’s upscale mixed-use development Winter Springs Town Center located in the affluent and rapidly growing community of Winter Springs northeast of Orlando, FL. The Company will begin Phase II development, which initially will include the construction and sale of 295 residential condominiums comprising approximately 350,000 square feet of space, as well as 34,000 square feet of retail space and appropriate parking accommodations.

The nationally acclaimed architects RTKL and Randall-Paulson Architects are leading the development’s design team. Upon completion, Winter Springs Town Center will comprise 700 residential units, 500,000 square feet of retail space and 300,000 square feet of office space. 

With the second transaction, the Company acquired an additional 15 acres of land contiguous with the primary entrance to its mixed-use development Northshore Town Center in Knoxville, TN.  The property will be developed as a residential, retail and office enclave within Northshore Town Center.  The award-winning architectural firm of Looney Ricks Kiss of Nashville, TN, designed the land plan.

The acquisition of this additional property brings the total size of the development to 155 acres. Northshore Town Center is being developed as an upscale destination combining shopping, dining, entertainment, offices and residences in a true village neighborhood environment.  Pedestrian-friendly streets and sophisticated architecture will recreate the feel of a traditional urban downtown setting.
