Going Downtown

Daniel Island's largest commercial property owner has added an other mixed-use property to its portfolio within the master-planned community. James Doran Co. recently completed a 21,000-square-foot class-A building with ground-floor retail space and offices above. The two-story brick building at 162 Seven Farms Drive is part of Downtown Daniel Island, partially finished 10-acre development, anchored by a Publix grocery store and shopping center. Two financial firms, SunTrust and CCO Mortgage, have taken space on the first and second floors, said Shane Doran, President of James Doran Co. Leases are being negotiated with an unidentified restaurant and an engineering firm, he said. The company also is planning to add two more commercial buildings totaling 30,000 square feet of space. Doran expects to compete the build-out of its property on Daniel Island, where the company is headquartered, in about three years, said Pete Harper, chief operating officer.
