James Doran Co. inks new tenant deals at Downtown Daniel Island

CHARLESTON, S.C. – Developer James Doran Company, based here, has signed three new tenants at Downtown Daniel Island, the 10-acre mixed-use development located in the affluent coastal island community just outside historic Charleston, S.C.

Systems Research Group, Inc., a multi-discipline management and technical services company, Mid-America Overseas Inc., global transportation and logistics services provider and Custom Kabinet Designs, offering custom designed cabinets and other home improvement items, have opened offices in this “new urban village” town center location, anchored by Publix and other tenants such as SunTrust, State Farm Insurance, Dragon Palace and Subway.

Systems Research Group, Inc., which occupies 1,505 square feet at its new Downtown Daniel Island location, provides engineering and technical support in air traffic control, communications, navigation and training systems technologies. Headquartered in Orlando, Florida, Systems Research Group, Inc. also maintains an office in Washington, D.C.

Mid-America Overseas, Inc., which has taken 2000 square feet of space, is a privately owned company, founded in Chicago in 1976 as an ocean freight forwarder. Mid-America Overseas has expanded its operations and services to include air and ocean transportation, customs brokerage, warehousing & distribution and now has a number of both global and U.S. offices.

Custom Kabinet Designs is a North Carolina Corporation owned by Russell Barringer of Durham, N.C., and Michael DeVito, a local Citadel graduate with extensive experience in custom cabinet design. The company will occupy 1,475 square feet of space.

Downtown Daniel Island, which currently hosts a variety of tenants, is located just off Interstate 526, which loops around Charleston with ease of access to the historic district, the airport, local schools and Interstate 26. Space is available for office, restaurant or retail usage in a variety of size configurations in the development, which is within walking distance to 800,000 square feet of Class A office space and 1300 apartments, condominiums and town homes.
